Sci-Cafe: Hwy 98 Shoreline Restoration Project Update

Have you been wondering what those rocks are along Hwy 98 between Eastpoint and Carrabelle? Join us for this month’s Sci-Cafe to take a deeper dive into the Franklin 98 restoration project. Rick Harter will discuss the Franklin-98 Living Shoreline Project uses an innovative design that is intended to maximize habitat value and shoreline stabilization, while striving to achieve a “natural” appearance while Josh Adams with the ARPC will provide an update on the NFWF/FDEP funded project, Franklin-98 Restoration Project. This project is ongoing, with the goal of increasing ecological function and reducing erosion along the south side of Highway-98, in Franklin County. The Forgotten Coast Conservation Corps will also join to discuss how they are helping with the project and future plans.
